A few good questions.
Everything else you need to know.
Is this iOS?
iFold is an iOS-inspired Android launcher. It changes Home, the dock, Search, and its own controls. An App Library page is optional. Apps, the keyboard, lock screen, notification shade, Recents, and system animations remain Android.
Is the preview the real app?
The screens are captured from the shipped Android app. The interactive hinge illustrates opening and closing, with frost layered over those captures. In the app, frost follows the layout change; Samsung controls the physical display handoff.
Which phones work?
Android 12 or newer. Wide screens share an app grid with small widgets and a side dock; narrower screens keep the phone layout. Tested on Android virtual devices; physical Galaxy Z Fold7 testing remains pending.
Does it need root?
No root, bootloader unlock, or firmware change. Install it as a normal app and choose it as your Home app.
Where do the icons come from?
Core icons include Apple catalogue artwork. Clock and Calendar update live. Other apps can fetch matching App Store artwork. System apps without a match get a consistent fallback; unmatched third-party apps keep their own icon. Alternate icon appearances are approximations.
What leaves my phone?
Optional icon requests send app names or bundle IDs and a store country to Apple. Opening the wallpaper picker fetches previews from 9to5Mac; selecting one downloads it for offline use. There is no analytics or advertising SDK. Layout and launcher search stay on the device.
Can I go back?
Anytime. Choose One UI Home as the default Home app in Android Settings. Your original home-screen layout is kept separately.
